"Years later, in 1988, I found myself in Gander preparing to open a new business. As Executive Vice President of Hemmeter Aviation (Honolulu), I developed a Fixed Base Operations (FBO) at Gander Airport. On one of my first visits, I met up Keith Lacey sitting next to me at one of the local watering holes. I had never met him before (even though he had been to St. Croix years before) but we struck up a conversation. Once Keith and other patrons learned that I worked for Charlie and Maureen, I rarely bought another drink during my visits. Charlie Blair was somewhat of a hero and legend in Gander. There is a street named after him. ..Blair Place." Tom Anusewicz
